I don't know any etymological Ladin dictionaries so I cannot tell with certainty but I think it's highly probable considering there are quite a few seemingly German loanwords in Ladin (which is not surprising considering where the Ladin-speaking territory is located).
No cognosce negun dizionèr etimologich ladin donca no posse dir co segureza ma peisse che l'é n muie probàbol ajache l'é desvalives paroles che somea adimprest dal todesch (che l no é na grana maravea se se conscidra olache se troa l teritorie ladin).

Some other words that I think (well for some of them I'm pretty sure) are taken from German are these:
Valgunes autres paroles che gé peisse les é toutes dal todesch (per dotrei n son delbon segur) les é chestes:

bèrstot - the lab of an artisan
fèrstont - common sense
labl - loaf
badl - calf
tascenlamp - flashlight
crighel - beer stein
pudl - small glass (for shots, I think)
sciurz - apricon
chentl - torch
tatl - garbage can
chino - cinema theatre
tisler - woodcutter
àiserin - housewife
sorech - corn
smauz - butter
ciuzé - shoe

What do you think? I would be curious to know if you could link them to a German equivalent.
Che peisseste pa? Gé fosse curious de saer se te podesses les tachèr ensema co n valif todesch.

PS: ch is [k], gh is [g], z is [ʦ] and sc(i) and s before consonant are [ʃ].

bèrstot - the lab of an artisan

Werkstatt exists, but it means workshop, factory, garage

fèrstont - common sense

Verstand means mind, brain, sense etc.

labl - loaf

Laib

tascenlamp - flashlight

Taschenlampe

crighel - beer stein

Krug, put e.g. Bavarian dialects have Krigel as a diminutive

pudl - small glass (for shots, I think)

There's the animal Pudel (poodle), but other than that, I have no idea.

sciurz - apricon

Schürze

chino - cinema theatre

Kino

tisler - woodcutter

There's Tischler ("carpenter")

smauz - butter

Maybe Schmalz ("lard, shortening")

What do you think? I would be curious to know if you could link them to a German equivalent.

I mentioned those I could think of, but keep in mind I'm a standard German speaker from the linguistic north, anyone from the linguistic south, especially a speaker of dialects similar to the ones spoken in Ladin-speaking areas might be able to identify more.

PS: ch is [k], gh is [g], z is [ʦ] and sc(i) and s before consonant are [ʃ].

Is the spelling completely based on Italian?

The spelling is mostly based on Italian. Ladin also has j [ʒ], ś [z] and sć [ʃtɕ] and s before consonant which is [ʃ] whereas in Italian it would be [s]. Moreover the stress is marked when it's not on the second last syllable.
L spelling é basà per la maor pèrt sul talian. L ladin à ence j [ʒ], ś [z] and sć [ʃtɕ] e s dant a n consonant che é [ʃ] enveze che [s] desche per talian. Amò apede l'azent é scrit canche l no é su la penùltima silba.

I've seen older texts where they use š instead of sc to represent [ʃ] and I think it's a pity they changed that.
É vedù tesć veiores olache se doura š enveze che sc per raprejentèr [ʃ] e gé peisse che l'é n pecià che i à mudà chesta cossa.

The dialect of Badia uses its own spelling which has the circumflex accent, the umlauts and ć for [tɕ], however they are reforming it, but I don't know in what way they are reforming it.
L dialet de Badia doura n spelling sie che à l'azent zircumfless, i umlauts e la ć per [tɕ], purampò ades i lo reforma e no sé a che vida i lo reforma.

Honestly I think they should have been a bit more creative, like the Friulians...
A la dir duta gé peisse che i aessa cognù esser più creatives, desche i furlans...

(lld) Reviewed some grammar stuff that I didn't remember very well. And btw damn you feminine plural agreement! Why do you have to be so difficult?

Moreover I'm almost at the end of a novel (L secret de Briga Andedios) and when I have time I think I'll create a course on memrise with the new words I've learnt in this book.

Lately I've been considering the idea of starting also a second dialect of Ladin. I'm mainly thinking about Badiot. Still not sure though.

(pt) Done some units of my grammar book.

I'm still desperately looking for some interesting program to watch regularly. For now the only thing is euronews and sometimes portugueses pelo mundo. I used to watch masterchef on youtube too, but the episodes are over.

 (he) (ru) Done nothing. :|

Time for an update:

 (lld)
    • Finished the novel.
    • I've re-started transalting bits of Harry Potter into Ladin (my aim would be to do at least half a page a day).
    • Watched a few short documentaries and the news on RAI Ladinia.
    • The temptation to start a second dialect is real. Badiot looks so nice with all those umlauts, circumflex accents and accented C's...

 (pt)
    • Done a few units of my grammar book.
    • I was kind of surprised to find out the wide variety of instances where Portuguese use the imperfect indicative instead of the conditional.
    • Irregular verbs are kind of melting my brain down.
    • Watched euronews and wrote down a page of words (a lot of them are shared with Italian).

    • Did/reviewed the personal/possessive/demonstrative/indefinite pronouns.
    • I kind of hate my book. It has lots of paragraphs that are about stuff that I personally find useless and/or obvious and at the same time interesting and useful things are glossed over. :x Moreover I don't like the way in which the topics are organized.

    • The grammar book I've recently purchased may not be as good as it looked initially. Argh I hate it when this happens. :x

    • Should I start this language? Or would it be overdo it? Maybe the best way to decide is start learning it and see if it's a viable thing or if I should postpone it. The language per se do not scare or worry me that much (I studied Latin for 5 years so declensions and SOV order are not that big of a deal for me) but nonetheless it would eat into the time and energy I can dedicate to the other languages... :? :hmm:

Is there an urgent need for you to learn it? Because otherwise, I think it's totally fine to leave it until later, tbh.

Thanks for the corrections. Sometimes it's not easy to decide which form to use when a verb is used as subject or object. :)

There isn't any urgent need for me to learn German, I guess. It's just that a few days ago I woke up in the morning with this idea in my mind that I had to learn German.

OMG I've found YuYu Hakusho in Portuguese on YT! And I couldn't care less it's in Brazilian Portuguese.
