So, I guess this is where I'll be documenting at least some of my progress with the 2013 Powwow. I'm not sure how often I'll actually update it, but my rough plan is to write some 2000 or so words over the course of the Powwow challenge, since my focus is going to be on output. It doesn't seem like much, but they're going to be words that I would want to use every day.
That means I should aim for 20 words a day, which may be difficult to do in Ojibwe. 20 Ojibwe words could be the equivalent of a somewhat large paragraph in English in some cases. In any case, I've already started doing this as of this week. It's just involving me coming up with a couple sentences based on whatever I'm doing or plan on doing for the day, writing them down on a notebook, then memorizing them. That way I'll know I'm getting usable vocabulary and structure.
So if I post something like the equivalent of "Do I want coffee or hot chocolate this morning?" (as I actually did this morning), go easy on me. Stuff like this is actually useful for me.
