I've already started a log on HTLAL, but I can open a thread here too and copy my entries

Unfortunately I haven't learned any other turkic language, so I can't compare Tatar with other languages of that family.
All I can say now is that pronunciation wise Tatar seems much more "guttural" to me than Turkish. :)

Ho do I open a new subforum inside of "other languages"?

Actually I've just realized that there's already an existent thread for both Tatar and Bashkir, so you don't need to open a new one. It had apparently been created by a native speaker :)

Here you go:

The BBC has produced a podcast series called Danışan kitablar.

So far they have been working on the recording of Kurban Said's novel Ali and Nino.

It's not really a resource, but could be helpful. In President Aliyev's official Facebook page the president's messages are posted both in Azerbaijani and English.

It's a pity there are no example sentences.

I flipped through it and it didn't seem that bad

It's probably not worth its price though.

Why do you say this? :(

Azərbaycan Türkçəsinin Nəhvi by Prof. Mohammad-Taqi Zahtabi
Full book (large PDF) of a grammar of Iranian Azeri, written in Azeri and printed in Perso-Arabic script. This is one of the most complete (and up-to-date; it was published only about eight years ago) grammars of Iranian Azeri I have come across.
Tracking my progress here. Please correct my mistakes in any language.
