This is my Dutch thread. I will share my progress in Dutch on this thread. I want to learn both Standard Netherlands Dutch and Flemish. Try to explain both of them. ;)

Those are the rules and vocabulary that I've learnt:

Dit = This (pronoun)
Dat = That (pronoun)
Het = It (pronoun)

Dit is een tafel. = This is a table.
Dat is een bureau. = That is a desk.
Het is een hond. = It is a dog.
Is dit een hond? Ja, het is een hond. = Is this a dog? Yes, it's a dog.
Is dat een school of een huis? = Is that a school or a house?
De man is oud. = The man is old.
Dit is een oude man. = This is an old man.
De tafel is rood. = The table is red.
Dat is een rode tafel. = That is a red table.
De stoelen zijn zwart. = The chairs are black.
Het is een blauwe vlinder! = It's a blue butterfly!

But articles confuse me every time. Like German, there are very few rules about this in Dutch. And yes, I want to learn the syntax.

And I'd like to do some translation exercises.

In Netherlands Dutch a 'lessenaar' or 'lezenaar' is a lectern and not a desk. A desk would be a 'bureau' (het).

Good luck with learning Dutch. :)
