As you can see, you can use خواستن not just for 'to want' (to do something) but also for 'to be about to/going to' (do something).

خیلی ممنون اسکندر جان که به من جواب دادی. من هم مانظورم این بود که ببینم چهطور فعل خواستن استعمال می شود.
می خوام پرسش دیگر هم بپرسم: ممکین است بگوییم خواستم رفت ؟

خواستم رفت = I would go.

خواهش می‌کنم. در خدمتتان هستم.
«خواستم رفت» وجود ندارد. این جمله‌ها می‌شود گفت:

خواستم بروم
I wanted to go

خواهم رفت
I will go

اگر پول داشتم، می‌رفتم
If I had money, I would go

خیلی متشکرم، اسکمدر خان. این سبک یاد گرفتن فارسی بسیار آسان می باشد.

Is it possible to use تشریف آوردن as a formal synonym of آمدن in polite language?

"امیدوارم است شما همیشه اینجا تشریف بیاورید" instead of "امیدوارم است شما همیشه اینجا بیایید".

Yes, it's completely possible and common in polite language.

I don't know why, but I keep on thinking that امیدوار in that construction is a noun on its own instead of a part of the compound verb it is (امیدوار بودن). Thanks!

It may help you to remember that امید is a noun ('hope') and وار is an adjective-forming suffix meaning 'having' or 'full of', thus combining the two gives us the adjective امیدوار 'hopeful'.

"امیدوارم است شما همیشه اینجا تشریف بیاورید"

Is it correct to use "است " in this sentence? Shouldn't we say "امیدوارم شما همیشه اینجا تشریف بیاورید"?

Eskandar already corrected that for me. Thanks.

The word "نمودن " seems to have quite a lot of ways of usage. Can anyone of you tell me its most common meaning and how it is used in daily life with a few examples?

نمودن generally means "to show" or "to cause to appear" but it is often used as a literary replacement for کردن in compound verbs. For example تقدیم کردن (to dedicate) vs. تقدیم نمودن (same meaning, but more formal/literary). It's not used much in colloquial Persian/daily speech as it belongs to the formal, written register of Persian.

Can I use a possessive suffix with jaan or would that be redundant? For example:
جان زهره شیرینم

I didn't understand exactly what you were trying to say in your Persian sentence. When جان is used as a term of endearment, it comes after a person's name, not before, eg:

زهره جان Zohre dear
زهره جانم my dear Zohre

Ah, I had it backwards, I was trying for something like "my dear, sweet zohre". So, something along the lines of زهره شیرین جانم

I suggest:
عزیزم, زهره جان
or
زهره جان , عزیزم

These are used to call (addressing) somebody, when you're going to start a conversation.

You can also use:
زهره , شیرینِ جانم
(Zohre, shirin-e janam)
Which is very nice, polite & poetic.

By the way, Lucky this Zohre-Khanoom !
! خوش به حال این زهره خانوم
